The Training and Placement Cell at GEC, Hassan plays a crucial role in locating job opportunities for Under Graduates students passing out from the college by keeping in touch with reputed firms and industrial establishments. The Placement Cell operates round the year to facilitate contacts between companies and graduates.

Training & Placement Cell at GECH strives for every single opportunity, if not create an opportunity to make students employable. The College has a full-fledged Placement Cell with Placement Officer and faculty from various departments as placement coordinators. The Placement cell coordinates with HR departments of various Corporates/MNCs and organizes recruitment at the college campus.

Training Cell
The Training cell identifies the training needs based on the industry requirements from time to time and trains the students using corporate trainers and assists the students for completing certification courses.

Objectives:

• To recognize the dream of every student and their core competence by counselling them to identify appropriate domains
• To create awareness about career planning and do career mapping
• To take measures to build confidence and give them the right attitude
• To enhance their communication skills and personality
• To train the students in various industry-oriented training through Career Development Cell (CDC)

Placement Oriented Training
Intensive placement oriented training programmes are conducted to students right from the 5 th semester in order to expose and make students habitual to the expectations of various industries.

The training programmes are conducted on:

• Communication Skills
• Personality Development and Interview Skills
• Group Discussion Skills
• Aptitude Skills
• Logical Reasoning and Analytical Reasoning Skills
• Computer Programming Skills and
• Technical Interview Skills

The students are trained on the above topics through corporate trainers and are given sufficient online practice sessions. Mock interviews are conducted to increase the confidence level, team spirit, leadership qualities and to groom their body language. The students are also motivated to take-up online pre-qualifier examinations like Kodnest, e-litmus, AMCAT, Cocubes, nowkari, Freshersworld, Mettl etc.

Infrastructure

• Communication Skills Training Laboratory
• An auditorium with a seating capacity of 250
• Seminar hall in each department – Nos. with a seating capacity of 100 each
• Online Examination Centre with 100 systems

The number of students placed through the campus interviews is continuously rising. On invitation, many reputed industries have give opportunities to our students studying in final year.

For the year 2021-22, around 140+ students have been placed in various reputed firms with 200+ offers. Students were given the opportunity to take part in 150+ reputed companies as on today. Placement support will be provided till end of the year.

Total 141 students placed out of 260 students .

The Placement Cell organizes career guidance programmes for all the students starting from Third year. The cell is tied up with SeventhSence solution for placement training for the students. For the current year 2022, students of GEC, Hassan are placed in to below mentioned Esteemed Companies.

GEC Hassan, Training and placement cell is collaborated with various tech giants for training the students through various industry academic collaborations, like, 

1> Tata Consultancy Services is supporting our students through Youth Employability Program every year providing both Technical and soft skills training for 90 students of pre-final year and internship opportunity.
2> Siemens Technology providing support through Siemens Scholarship program for the selected students by providing scholarship from 1 st year to last year   and with training during every semester vacation and placement opportunity.
3>Edunet Foundation in support with Microsoft and Saplabs is training 140 girls students through women empowerment program with respect to Cloud Technology, AI and Web Technology.
4>Infosys Springboard and Kodnest supporting our students through LMS.

5>VTU Centralized Placement Cell , Placesense, Kodnest, Nextgen ventures are supporting GECH students for placement.

Also, GECH have recently signed up MOU with ICT academy for establishing new collaboration with industry partners to train , place and make students ready for industry before they complete their graduation.

Industrial collaborations and MOU’s

Students are motivated to attend placement drives at other colleges (pool campus) and the ones organized through VTU. This has created more number of opportunities for the students to get placed.
